Wedding Anniversary

So, i'm in the works of planning our first wedding anniversary. I'm not positive that we have a babysitter as of yet but i'm not letting that stop me from planning this. Since Kurt and I did not have a honeymoon i'm wanting our first anniversary to be our very FIRST vacation! And by first, i mean we have never got a weekend to ourselves in 5 years!

So, this is what i'm thinking and i'd love any opinions or input. I'm thinking fri. when he gets home from work we'd head to minneapolis and stay in a cheap hotel. Then Sat. Oct. 24th, check into The Grand Hotel in Minneapolis. They have massages and all that lovey-dovey stuff. I haven't found a restaurant YET but i want to find an AMAZING restaurant. Like the ones where you eat more than one course! lol. One where a real chef actually works there lol so, no Applebees! Then i was thinking later at night we could go to this place called The Melting Pot. That looks like it could be sweet and romantic. I was hoping there would be something playing like an opera, but no such luck. So, this is where i'm at : )

I'm actually really excited and i hope it all works out!

Okay, so scratch The Grand Hotel idea, it's to expensive. We're thinking of just staying in a 'nice' hotel and going to see Doug Benson at the Acme Comedy Co. in Minneapolis. We'll find a restaurant and hopefully go to The Melting Pot after the comedy show at 8. I can't buy tickets yet i suppose because it's to early. Now, the next quest is a restaurant but Kurt said he had a few in mind.

You guys both like Chinese right? Have you ever eaten at Bennihanas?? It's really cool, it's a cook top that you sit right where the chefs are cooking your meals right in front of you, plus they always put on a good show doing the prep. You get like 5 or 6 courses. Salad, soup, sauteed vegies, shrimp, main course, sprouts??, then ice cream. Or if they have a Brazilian resturant in the cities, they are really cool. In Texas there are several different ones. But my favorite is Texas de Brazil. They also have, Boi na Braza, Fogo de chow. First they have a fantastic salad bar, (don't eat too much rabbit food) then they walk around with big skewers of meats. Beef, lamb, chicken, pork, & sausage. You have these little tags on your table, if the green side is up they come and ask if you want something. If the red side is up, they don't bug you. You get these little tongs to snatch the meat as they are cutting it off the skewer. Very, very, yummy. My favorite, but i'm a carnivore!!! Each of these are about 50 bux a head, you can get cheaper at Bennihanas, depending on what you order. The brazilions are one set price, unless your drinking or have a desert. I recommend the Papaya cream!
