Summer Fun

We just went to Duluth Aug. 21-22. We met Kurt there since he's south of the cities and it's so expensive to drive all the way home. So the kids and I packed up Sat. afternoon and headed out. First, we went to Target so i could buy koi a reading system: Leapfrog Junior Tag. It was SO hot outside and carting around 3 kids isn't always so easy : ) Upon driving home, I realized they charged me TWICE for the system which was $32 a piece, how convienant for them! So i turned around and drove back, took all 3 kids out again, and had koi running around not listening to me, fun. Got back home, fed the dog, and headed out. Koi passed out immediately, yeeess. The drive was decent, except my air conditioner doesn't work so it was a tad hot and windy since i had to leave the windows down. Once we got there, everyone ate and we went down to the canal. Koi got to see his first big ship. I'm not sure how he reacted since grandpa and grandma scooped up the kids and ran off with them lol. I sat with Courtney and Robert, which was still nice. When the lift bridge went up the horns blew, poor little Macy wasn't so sure what to think about all that lol. We walked over to this candy store only to realize Koi had pooped. He never poops at night, grr. I didn't bring a diaper. Ken walked all the way back to the car to find one, thanks! We got a few candy items, then walked to DQ. Once there, realized Macy had pooped all over her clothes!! lol thankfully there was a store connected to DQ so i just bought some : ) When we got back to the house Kurt was almost there. We sat and visited with Courtney and Robert awhile longer. Once all kids were in bed, so were we.

The next morning, we all got up, ate, and headed out to the zoo! I have been planning on bringing Koi to the zoo in Aug. no matter what. It was just figuring out a time that worked! We were thinking of the Como Zoo, but Ken and Debbie were willing to take the opportunity to see their grand kids. Koi loved the zoo, as i knew he would! ♥

There was this grizzly bear though. Derrian was sitting right next to the glass just watching the bear who was RIGHT on the other side playing with this bowl/ball thingy. All of a sudden he just PUNCHED the glass. Derrian jumped back and stumbled a bit trying to catch his balance. All i could do was gasp! Apparently they call him "trouble" because he's always doing things like this. Man, i've never had to see a bear take a swipe at one of my children before, scary!

Afterwards we headed to A&W, ate, and headed back for Koi's nap. Around 6 Kurt and I both headed out. He went back to the cities and I headed to Arleens! We spent the night there and got to taste her amazingly good cooking again! Mon. Jackie showed up but we only got to say hi before we were heading out. Lots of road construction on the way home, not fun.

All in all it was a great weekend! Thanks to Ken & Debbie for everything.

Today, I went school clothes shopping for the boys. Derrian starts school after Labor Day weekend and so does Koi! He only goes once a week though to ECFE. I'll be with him.

Next Fri. Macy has her 4 month check up. FOUR MONTHS! : ( She's growing too fast. Kurtis also has his appointment. He will be open to sympathy cards LOL. Friday will be the appointment which ends all future children : ) haha poor guy. So that will be our Labor Day weekend. Lots of family time, which is definitely needed. Koi misses his daddy.
