These are 2 pictures i obtained. The first one is me with my grandpa porter - i'm on the left! : ) Gosh i really was cute wasn't i??? haha. Apparently that side of my family did not believe in shirts!

Wedding Anniversary

So, i'm in the works of planning our first wedding anniversary. I'm not positive that we have a babysitter as of yet but i'm not letting that stop me from planning this. Since Kurt and I did not have a honeymoon i'm wanting our first anniversary to be our very FIRST vacation! And by first, i mean we have never got a weekend to ourselves in 5 years!

So, this is what i'm thinking and i'd love any opinions or input. I'm thinking fri. when he gets home from work we'd head to minneapolis and stay in a cheap hotel. Then Sat. Oct. 24th, check into The Grand Hotel in Minneapolis. They have massages and all that lovey-dovey stuff. I haven't found a restaurant YET but i want to find an AMAZING restaurant. Like the ones where you eat more than one course! lol. One where a real chef actually works there lol so, no Applebees! Then i was thinking later at night we could go to this place called The Melting Pot. That looks like it could be sweet and romantic. I was hoping there would be something playing like an opera, but no such luck. So, this is where i'm at : )

I'm actually really excited and i hope it all works out!

So i'm going to be posting some pictures and videos now i think, i just hate this part : ) We've been so busy lately and every time i forget my stupid camera!

Wed. morning we were eating breakfast bright and early and just decided to jump in the car and drive to Theif River Falls! We got there around 11 and then decided to drive another hour round trip and pick up my two nieces and one friend. So from around 12:30 until around 9 they swam in the waterpark! Of course Koi didn't get a nap, he only slept for a little over an hour for the whole day, which is so hard on him. Almost makes trips not worth it. But Kurt got there a little after six and he swam with the kids. Once Koi was down for the night and Derrian had passed out, Kurt and I went down to the casino : ) I came out $30 ahead! lol woot woot. Needless to say, it was a long and tiring day for him the next day. It was so fun hanging out with him though. So Thur. on the way home i dropped the two oldest girls off in Bemidji and Morgan came home with me! Sun. her mom came and picked her up. It was soo good to see her again.

I had set Derrian up this art station thing so they painted, they swam, we went to Pizza Hut, we went to the Science Museum, we went to garage sales, we went to the park...it goes on and on : ) And the whole time - NO CAMERA!

Friday night Ken (Kurt's dad) drove up for the night! He had wanted to ride his motorcycle but it was storming and predicted to storm the whole weekend, so obviously for safety reasons, he didn't ride it. It was very nice to have him though. He helped us hang some pictures that i bought for the living room and he got to see the little man in action : ) Hopefully we'll see him - AND debbie - again soon!

Okay, so let me go find my camera and we'll see if i make it down here again to upload the pictures ; )

Beltrami County Fair.

Well, this last weekend we spend Sat. at the fair : )
I love going. As soon as Koi woke up we headed out and walked around for a few hours. We checked out all the barns with different animals and then got a tiny amount of fair food (no where nearly what i wanted because i thought i'd get some later) and then took derrian on the rides! He was so brave! We played games while it poured! : ) So we spent a lot of money on useless stuffed animals, but it's part of the experience i think.

Then, Sat. night Laura and I went to the rodeo. It was so much fun. The announcer screwed up and didn't say whitney's name so we completely missed her!! It sucked. We got to see Tina ride though and that was very exciting. Tina is Ladie's sister's daughter : ) When we were leaving we have to scoot by all these people and try not to step on their toes or stick your butt in their face we got out and as we were walking down the stairs the clown was right there and said "HEY lady, where are YOU going?!" to laura hahahah. She turned right around and sat down : ) It was too funny because the whole stadium looks at you then. So we left, went to The Garden where her daughter works and had some fried food. I never got my cheese curds at the fair : (

So, that was our weekend! Kurt went back early today so he could get some fishing done. This coming Friday night his dad Ken is coming up and spending the night! He'll get some good grandpa time in : )

Oh, and i of course forgot my camera so now pictures of the fair! Go figure : )

Hello people.

So what's been new with us? Nothing. : P

I am excited though because this weekend is the Beltrami fair woot woot. Saturday we'll be taking the boys and walking around. There are barns full of animals and TONS of fair food, and a few rides. Sat. night is the rodeo and I hope i'll be going to that as my niece Whitney shall be riding in it.

Koi has been walking everywhere. He never crawls anymore. Well, sometimes he does but he looks funny. He wants to go outside all the time and walk around. He's been thinking he only needs one nap a day, but i have news for him. He always, always takes a morning nap though, that's the one he needs the most.

My garden is coming along pretty well. It sure gets weedy fast though! lol. Stupid thing.

Derrian just finished summer school so now he's back to being home all day. He has chores he has to do if he wants any money : ) he's trying to break us AND LAURA with his collections. First it was Cars and now it's Star Wars. They keeping getting more expensive as he gets older!

Kurt's been getting home Friday evenings and it's been so easy to get used to. It's SOO different from seeing him every 10 days. The weekends go by so much faster though. A lot of the times he'll get done at 3:30 on friday though, which puts him home at a decent time. Especially since he's working about 1-1/2 hours away now. Koi gets so happy to see him. He loves his daddy so much BUT thankfully, he is a complete momma's boy and i am not going to complain for one tiny second because as they get older, that goes away and then dad is the cool one : ) Derrian is the same way : ) except he's still a momma's boy, yay. : )

I think this weekend we may go look at new cell phones. A while back Unicel switched to Verizon so we need Verizon phones. who knows, it's kinda expensive. And i've been thinking that i maybe want to take derrian down to Valley Fair this year? We also still have a gift card to Grand Rios!! Who knows. It seems like we've been so busy it'd be really nice for us 4 to go on a family vacation and spend time together outside of this house, just the 4 of us. Selfish, i imagine some people may think, but i bet everybody else finds time for just their families. Whatever, who knows, just ideas and thoughts.

Anyways, I believe Koi has finally fallen asleep so i need to get some house work done instead of him being a little mess maker right behind me. : )
