Summer Fun

We just went to Duluth Aug. 21-22. We met Kurt there since he's south of the cities and it's so expensive to drive all the way home. So the kids and I packed up Sat. afternoon and headed out. First, we went to Target so i could buy koi a reading system: Leapfrog Junior Tag. It was SO hot outside and carting around 3 kids isn't always so easy : ) Upon driving home, I realized they charged me TWICE for the system which was $32 a piece, how convienant for them! So i turned around and drove back, took all 3 kids out again, and had koi running around not listening to me, fun. Got back home, fed the dog, and headed out. Koi passed out immediately, yeeess. The drive was decent, except my air conditioner doesn't work so it was a tad hot and windy since i had to leave the windows down. Once we got there, everyone ate and we went down to the canal. Koi got to see his first big ship. I'm not sure how he reacted since grandpa and grandma scooped up the kids and ran off with them lol. I sat with Courtney and Robert, which was still nice. When the lift bridge went up the horns blew, poor little Macy wasn't so sure what to think about all that lol. We walked over to this candy store only to realize Koi had pooped. He never poops at night, grr. I didn't bring a diaper. Ken walked all the way back to the car to find one, thanks! We got a few candy items, then walked to DQ. Once there, realized Macy had pooped all over her clothes!! lol thankfully there was a store connected to DQ so i just bought some : ) When we got back to the house Kurt was almost there. We sat and visited with Courtney and Robert awhile longer. Once all kids were in bed, so were we.

The next morning, we all got up, ate, and headed out to the zoo! I have been planning on bringing Koi to the zoo in Aug. no matter what. It was just figuring out a time that worked! We were thinking of the Como Zoo, but Ken and Debbie were willing to take the opportunity to see their grand kids. Koi loved the zoo, as i knew he would! ♥

There was this grizzly bear though. Derrian was sitting right next to the glass just watching the bear who was RIGHT on the other side playing with this bowl/ball thingy. All of a sudden he just PUNCHED the glass. Derrian jumped back and stumbled a bit trying to catch his balance. All i could do was gasp! Apparently they call him "trouble" because he's always doing things like this. Man, i've never had to see a bear take a swipe at one of my children before, scary!

Afterwards we headed to A&W, ate, and headed back for Koi's nap. Around 6 Kurt and I both headed out. He went back to the cities and I headed to Arleens! We spent the night there and got to taste her amazingly good cooking again! Mon. Jackie showed up but we only got to say hi before we were heading out. Lots of road construction on the way home, not fun.

All in all it was a great weekend! Thanks to Ken & Debbie for everything.

Today, I went school clothes shopping for the boys. Derrian starts school after Labor Day weekend and so does Koi! He only goes once a week though to ECFE. I'll be with him.

Next Fri. Macy has her 4 month check up. FOUR MONTHS! : ( She's growing too fast. Kurtis also has his appointment. He will be open to sympathy cards LOL. Friday will be the appointment which ends all future children : ) haha poor guy. So that will be our Labor Day weekend. Lots of family time, which is definitely needed. Koi misses his daddy.

Happy Birthday Koi!

Well, our little man has officially turned TWO! I cannot believe how fast the last 2 years have went. Of course we had other things going on (Macy) that helped it speed right along. On that note, i can't believe i got pregnant so fast!! LOL What was i thinking?!?!? Just kidding, it was planned that way, but it makes me sound more "sane" if i act like i wouldn't keep just poppin' those little animals out : )
OOOH!!! Brandy had her puppies! She had 11!!! However, she laid on 2 of them and they didn't make it :( But they are absolutely adorable, all black. Some have a little white on them. The father was a black beagle/basset hound. So we'll have puppies to play with all summer. I suppose in Aug. some time is when we'll be able to get rid of them. They were born on Wed. the 9th.
So, today we have my cousin Tina's wedding to go to. Kurt's sister Lisa is driving up for Koi's birthday and to meet Macy, so that will be nice. Hopefully we can get as much time as we can in with her. I won't be going to the dance for obvious reasons so i'll be able to hang out with them then, kurt will go for a little bit to grab Morgan so she can be at Koi's party.
We've rented the inflatable bouncer thing and hopefully we'll have the waterpark slide set up if it's warm enough. it should be a fantastic time and i'm so excited : )

Some times the items are lame but sometimes not lol.

Anyways, other than that, things are Faaantastic! love my kids, love my husband. We have to spend every day outside because koi would not accept anything less : ) he loves to play in my van but of course there was one little hiccup. He stuffed my drivers license AND my debit card into the cd player..booo. LOL So i have to take that in and then get the air conditioner fixed at the same time.
Macy is sleeping fairly well, she USUALLY wakes up about twice at night. She's amazing. She tries to hold her head up a lot but once her neck gets weak it flops lol. Pooping ALL the time : )
Derrian finishes school today. Oh boy. We need to get his pool set up ASAP. The waterslide park is awesome but he needs to swim too to get his exercise.
I just checked the weather channel and it looks like it's not going to rain on the
13th for Koi's birthday woohoo.
On the 12th we have my cousin Tina's wedding. After the wedding and the reception Kurt will go out to the dance for awhile and bring Morgan home, that way she can be here for the birthday.
Well, I must be going. I need to look for sheets on ebay : )

My Macy Muffin

I got her pictures taken at Sears today : ) We ordered a small package just because i wanted a picture of her when she was a newborn, it's very easy to get caught up in ordering tons of pictures but it gets very expensive and we're not doing that. Everybody will receive a wallet at this point. If you'd like to order your own pictures you're more than welcome! Just let me know and i can give you the info on sears to do so.

Finally a new computer!

birthday

So I'm writing from my cell again, blah, anyways koi's birthday party will be Sunday June 13th. We will do lunch, we've reserved a jumping thing for the kids. Let me know if you can make it!

On a quick side note, ill get another computer soon but until then, macy is doing amazing. She's everything I've ever dreamed of for my girl :)

doctors appointment

Well had another appointment today. I'm actually sitting outside in the beautiful sun writing this on my phone. My contractions were 10 minutes apart today, I was monitored for about 20 minutes. Then when checked by my doctor I'm dilated to about 3. Sooo anyday probably :) okay my fingers are getting tired, chow

Is tonight the night?

So we've been on the go lately hanging out with the kids in this beautiful weather. Walking a lot gets hard for me but it's still fun. We've been going to garage sales too, which i love : ) I've been hoping to find a plastic toddler play swing set/slide thingy but no such luck. I'm also on the look out for summer clothes for my boys. No luck lol. FYI if any of you are into garage sales my boys are size medium or 9/10 and koi is 2T and 3T, i'd go more for 3T, they'll be a little big but that's okay.

Anyways, tonight i fell in our living room. I stepped on a toy and down i went. :\ I'm heading to bed now and hoping i don't wake up in a couple hours needing to go in...i'm not ready yet! lol. Anyways, that's my quick little update on our lives. Nothing to exciting. : )

uh oh!!

I had my doctors appointment today : ) After changing my diet and getting some more exercise i've lost 6 pounds since my last appointment (2 weeks ago)! Woot.
Anyways, my doctor never checks me but since i had to have the Group B swab done today i said since i was already in this situation could she just check me, and she did. I am currently dilated to 1 and my cervix is thinning! *PANIC* LOL
With my family history and with how i carry my babies, i won't stay dilated at 1 too long : ) So i imagine in not too long (my guess is within 2 weeks) most of you will be receiving that call to let you know she arrived!

Soooo tired.

So i do have a few pictures to update but it ain't happenin' tonight honey lol. Hm...i should have told Kurt that 35 weeks ago and i wouldn't be so tired today ; ) j/k.

Anyways, i hope everyone's Easter was nice. We had the same suspects over for an outside dinner, deep fried turkey and brats : ) It wasn't anything huge but it was nice to have a get together. We took the boys down to the egg hung Sat. but it was SO cold outside it took a lot of the fun out. Then on Sunday Kurt took them to the sand pile down the road on the 4-wheeler and i hid eggs. (Derrian painted them the night before). After Derrian found all his 24 eggs we moved on to the scavenger hunt. He loved it. He was running from the front yard to the back multiple times getting his clues, which led him to his $100 Lego Space Miners, apparently the Easter Bunny forgot we're on a budget ; ) After Derrian was done i placed eggs to Koi's gift, the video will be uploaded hopefully tomorrow.

Since then we've just been enjoying family time. It's been so nice have Kurt home and having us 4 together every day. We've been going out to my moms a bit lately since they're laid off and the kids have a BLAST! Koi LOVES the "he-haws" haha it's too cute. He's so worried about his papa and papa, my poor mother will never be called grandma.

He's been talking quite a bit, tonight he gave me a little trouble because he wanted to "rock-a-bye-baby" : ) meaning, he wanted me to take him out of his crib and rock him or just sit and cuddle with him. This happened 3 times : )
Almost every morning when he wakes up, it's "mommy or daddy" a million times and "where are you?" lol of course it doesn't come out crystal clear like that, which makes it so much cuter.
The weather is getting more and more beautiful and we spend a lot of time outside. Well, Kurt spends the most time, i get so darn tired. This baby is big and getting low : ) I have almost all the basement carpet cleaned so we can start moving our bedroom downstairs this week. Then it will be moving Koi into our old bedroom and getting Macy's room set up but that isn't that important since she will be staying in our room for the first few months in her bassinet. Other than painting the only other thing we HAVE to do is get a infant car seat. We checked out Target but the fabric was so not soft.

Anyways, it's 10:31 PM, i'm tired.....aaand hungry so i must be on my way. The morning comes way to early especially with getting up 4 times a night to use the bathroom :\

Macy

Well, she's flipped! Whew, what a relief! We had my 2nd ultrasound this morning to check if she was head down yet and she was. We couldn't find out any measurements because they have to be ordered by the doctor! I thought that was silly. We got to check her out in 3D but with the way she was lying, they weren't very good. But we got to see a side of her face lol and she has some chubby cheeks already! She's going to look like me, i know it, i know it, i know it haha. She had a little tiny smushed nose, so again, after me (sorry honey lmao you know it's true). It's just so nice to know that she's down so if i do go early, it'll all be okay in that area. I asked my doctor if my labor only lasts 2 hours again from start to finish can i still have an epidural. She laughed at me : ( I said maybe they could have it ready for me, so when i checked in at registration, that'd be the first thing and nope. Why do i have to take after my grandmother and have my kids in like 2 minutes? I should watch what i say though because maybe God will teach me a lesson and give me a 28 hour labor lol (zips mouth and throws away the key).

Anyways, just a quick update to say all is good in the Goossen household. Holla!!

Duluth

So, Kurt has been laid off for almost a week and it has been SO nice! Koi has really been enjoying the time with his daddy. It's starting to finally get nice outside so that's fantastic, exercise! Kurt's been cleaning up the yard, tearing down fence, and getting the place looking nice again. I'm going to be starting inside with the carpet cleaning, painting, and getting the kids' rooms ready. Did i say i'm doing Macy's room in Tinkerbell theme?
Kurt had been dealing with a very sore tooth for awhile. He got into the dentist on Tue. and they referred him to a specialist. He choose Duluth : ) So tue. afternoon when derrian got done with school we all packed up and headed to Duluth. We spent the night at ken and debbie's, ate KFC and sat back and relaxed. Wed. morning kurt went to his appointment (he has to go to grand rapids on the 1st to finish it) and we all got ready and hung out a little bit. Isabel was there too! When he got back, we all got in the van and headed to Wendy's...YUM! After that we had thought about the zoo but there really wasn't enough time, so we went down to the shores of Lake Superior. We searched for agates, which was really addicting actually! It was peacful, and so beautiful. When it came time to leave Derrian had a hard time, the kids really had a good time and love their grandma and grandpa dearly.
So now we're home again. I have been SO tired, this pregnancy is kicking my butt! I can't wait until it's over with, i have my beautiful baby girl, and my energy level back. I'm looking forward to walks in the sun and watching my kids play : )
So again, no pictures. I had thought i broke my mom's camera, and here i just didn't know how to work it. But i swear, i will get busy taking some pictures. My aunt Rhonda is over sea's and i know a little piece of family would be wonderful for her. Miss you! Only a few more months until you can hold your new God-daughter!

Alright, here's the deal. I've done a considerable amount of thinking about this blog. My aunt Rhonda is over-sea's with the Navy and just has no way of connecting with us for updates on the boys. I've decided to continue with the blog for everyone's benefit.

However, there are a few things. I think sometimes it's easy to forget that this is my blog, i'm the narrator. That means, things are from my point of view, that does not make them wrong OR right. It's just me. A lot of the times i find a few minutes, sit down, write something out, or post a few pictures, then i'm off to do something else. It's not like i sit and think everything through. I'm sure some people make take things wrong at times because it's always hard to "read" emotion or "hear" somebody's tone from letters on a screen. This is certainly not my intention. I'm just giving quick updates.

On that note, i hope to get some pictures going again soon because these kids are growing like weeds. I've been taking Koi to McDonald's to play with other kids and he loves it. Plus he always wants to "eat" just like his momma :)

Kurt should be getting laid off pretty soon so i'm very much looking forward to spending some quality time as a family, it's been awhile since it's been longer than a day that he's been home. He'll have about a month off, then it will be back to work.

Tomorrow the boys and I are packing up and heading to Duluth for the night. It gets boring around here and we run out of things to do, so i figured what the heck, the drive isn't that bad and then they can see Grandpa and Grandma Goossen. We'll be coming home Sat. morning (before the freezing rain) so we can be here for Kurt's arrival for the night.

There are reasons, this isn't just because i don't want to do this anymore. Although at this point, i no longer wish to do this anymore : ) We keep in contact with most of you so if something new and exciting happens, you'll find out through a phone call. Whenever do get pictures uploaded again i'll just e-mail them out. There have been No new pictures of Koi since his 1-year pictures so if you're feeling like YOU haven't received one, nobody has. There hasn't been any new pictures of derrian since his school picture and nobody has received one for the fact of i need to go buy a bunch of picture envelopes, i don't even have a picture up. Hello out there.

So, once again, it's been awhile since i've posted anything...i know this. There hasn't been a whole lot new here. If there has been, then you already know.

Kurt has been working and will continue to work every Sat. until the end of March. Right in time for his baby to be born. I'm very much looking forward to (i'm hoping he gets at least a week off) having all of us at home enjoying the new baby. Now, that's not saying i don't want any visitors because that's NOT what i'm saying.
Anyways, this whole working every Sat. is already very old. The kids miss him, i miss him, i miss the massages lol, i miss pawning my animal children off on him, etc. : )

Derrian has been into the Legos lately, the ones that you buy that build something (Star Wars, Bionicle, Space Police) which i don't mind because it makes him think.

We got a new dog....dun dun dun...
Her name is Brandy - we think. I've been helping out the police station when they find dogs and nobody claims them. When they're really good dogs and the humane society is full, i offer to help find them a home. They only have 5 days in there otherwise they get put to sleep. Well there was a chocolate lab and i rescued her thinking she'll go really fast because somebody always wants a free lab (i do talk to kurt first). Well when he came home that night HE said she's not going anywhere. I tried to put my "buts" in there but he wanted to keep her. She's an amazing dog. She doesn't play at this point but hopefully she can pull out of it. She's around 1 and has already had puppies. I'm sure she was in a puppy mill sort of situation which is why she doesn't play or know how for that matter. We're very happy with her. This summer we plan on putting in an electric fence so my little monster Moe will stay in the yard. Then just buy an extra collar for this one.

I had Derrian's conferences on Wed. and they went well. He's making great progress and i'm so proud of him. He of course acts out in class and i don't see that side of him much. I give those teachers a lot of props for dealing with this crap!

Koi is 30 pounds and at 100% for height for his age. I'm pretty sure most of this can be credit to his grandpa Ken. He's 79% for his weight, which of course is going to be higher since he's so tall but he's not out of proportion. He's doing fantastic.
My mom is working down in Albertville so she's right next to the outlet stores. This has been VERY exciting for my children lol. Koi keeps getting so many sweat outfits and pj's. Macy already has a full wardrobe thanks to my mom and Laura lol. Laura got up to 6 months i think off ebay, most were new! She will need the zip up pj's and stuff still though, she really doesn't have a FULL wardrobe but for not being born, she has a lot. My mom has bought all 6-9 months.

Well, it's 9:00 and i'm barely hanging in there so it's time for me to go to bed.

**Tonight i was squeezing derrians neck from behind picking on him, he said "stop doing that!" I said "whyyyy?" He very annoyingly said "Because i'm eating!" Sometimes he can put me in my place of make me feel very dumb lol
